Peter Anderson, ISHC

Founder and CEO of Anderson & Associates Hospitality Consulting

Mr. Anderson, a 30-year veteran in the leisure industries, is the founder and CEO of Anderson and Associates, a consultancy firm specializing in developing and programming issues related to hotel and resorts as well as spas and wellness and lifestyle issues. His day-to-day activities include developing strategic operating plans for his clients with respect to new construction, expansion, renovations, branding or enhanced operation. Operational issues include developing and training to operational standards; developing comprehensive standard operating procedures which interface with point of sale technology is a forte of A&A.   He evaluates hotel and lodging trends and their related revenue sources vis-à-vis market acceptance and economic viability.

He has personally conducted several engagements that require detailed knowledge of comprehensive market analysis, real estate evaluation, resort, medical and mineral springs spa operations, as well as consumer lifestyle trends.  Mr. Anderson has prepared analyses for all types of hotels and spas including destination resort and spas as well as destination spas and wellness centers.  Along with hotels and resorts, he has also advised medical spas, medical offices, and hospitals. 

Selected lifestyle and wellness clients include Dubai Health Care City Wellness Master Plan, (Dubai, UAE), The Los Angeles Athletic Club,(Los Angeles, CA)  Hotel Bel Air Spa, (Bel Air, CA), Chopra Life Style Centers (Westminster, CO), The Phoenician Center for Well Being, (Scottsdale, AZ), the Springs at Clifton, Holistic Mineral Springs Spa at the Hospital (Clifton Springs, NY), and Glen Ivy Hot Springs, (Corona CA).

Some of Mr. Anderson’s corporate clients include: Marriott Corporation, Bank of America, San Diego Savings and Trust First Chicago Bank, Price Waterhouse, ITT Sheraton Corporation, General Electric Capital,  Ramada Inns Richfield Hotels, Holiday Corporation, Bass Investments/ Six Continents, Days Inns of America, Great American Savings, New York Life, Bank One, , Lehman Brothers,  Morgan Stanley, Omni Hotels, Red Lions Inns, District Court of Pueblo, CO, Superior Court of Los Angeles County.

Mr. Anderson sits on the board of directors for the University of California Irvine’s Spa Management program, and is also a faculty member at both the Collins School of Hospitality Management at the California State University’s campus in Pomona, CA. and the California State University Hotel Management Program in Long Beach, CA.  

Prior to founding Anderson and Associates, Peter was a Vice President with PKF consulting in Los Angeles. He also managed the Hospitality consulting practice of Deloitte and Touche LLP out of their Los Angeles location. Other positions held by Mr. Anderson include brand development and asset acquisition for Millennium Hotels in Denver, Colorado (formerly Richfield Hotels), and senior consultant in management advisory services of Laventhol and Horwath in San Diego, CA. In addition to consulting for development and operations of resorts, hotels and spas Mr. Anderson has also been the general manager of a few hotels assets and as well been designated as court appointed receiver by the superior court of Los Angeles for lodging assets; in total these types of engagements account for approximately two to three years of hands-on operational experience. Mr. Anderson was a Lieutenant in the United State Navy and in that capacity worked and lived throughout Asia.

Anderson is a member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants, an invitation-only organization composed of approximately 200 members from 37 countries, dedicated to technical and ethical excellence. Additionally he is a member of the Global Wellness Summit a vetted group of 300 industry leaders  from over 80 countries who evaluate the social, medical and financial impact of  lifestyle, wellness and leisure issues globally. 

Mr. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of Professional Studies in Hotel Administration from Cornell University.
